Remember the Illinois Central Panama Limited?

The Panama Limited was the All Coach Version of the Illinois Central Chicago to New Orleans made famous by Jim Croce's "City of New Orleans".

My Dad was the CFO of Chicago's Second largest Coffee Roaster, Richeimmer Coffee Company and had a branch operation in New Orleans

He, my mother and I took this Luxury Train to New Orleans 3 times - once for New Year's.

We Stayed on at the Hotel Royal, just one block from Bourbon Street.

I remember hearing Pete Fountain, Al Hirt and the Original Dixieland Jass Band while there, though I was too young to go into the clubs.

The French Quarter is a real gem and offers a truly unique experience to atnyone looking for a truly wonderful US Vacation.
