More than a year after a police raid at an Alzheimer’s care center in Georgia, a raft of elder abuse charges have been brought against the owner and 20 employees.
The Athens Banner Herald reported on how the case against the 21 people at Alzheimer’s Care of Commerce, is finally headed to a grand jury.
An investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation looked into allegations of widespread abuse at the center including staff restraining and assaulting patients, and administering drugs to difficult patients in order not to have to deal with them.
